Starting an E-Learning Center

Monday, March 31st, 2008

I wanted to start an e-learning center for Linux and related technologies long back but kept postponing the decision all the time. I even registered the domain Gurucool.org and renewed it 2-3 times and still not went beyond the “Coming Soon” page. But this time I made myself very strong and said that I will start small and then will grow slowly. So instead of thinking of all the big topics and their indepth coverage, I have decided to start small and start for the beginners. Now you can expect something very small, very basic and very cool, very soon.

Also I thought of using Moodle as the LMS for my elearning center then I dropped it because i found the best LMS also to be too heavy for my needs. I don’t want people to register and log in, i just want them to surf on my ecampus. Something like ChalkSite is still not there in the public domain so I am relying on my HTML & Photoshop skills.
